France is jubilant after winning the World Cup in football yesterday.
All ages of people in La Charité-sur-Loire celebrated with the rest of France.
L'Antre Pots Pub on rue du Pont brought out their big screen TV and lots of tables and chairs so we could all watch the game together. The other bars in town also had their TVs on for the fans. So much fun!
The fans dressed up in blue, white and red.
At the end of the game happy fans rode around town in their cars honking for about two hours. They were really happy! For the fourteen years we have lived in La Charité-sur-Loire this is the tradition here after an important sports event to honk the car horns and ride around town. Allez les bleus!
Thoughts of food. A few weeks ago we did a butterflied leg of lamb on the barbecue for friends. We marinated it overnight in onion, garlic, parsley, thyme, rosemary and olive oil. The next day we added some salt and pepper and grilled the leg for about 20 minutes for medium rare. Easy and delicious!
